Export agents:  packing

Piketko has two types of clients, namely the individual producers of fruit and the various export agents. 

Individual producers

In the case of the individual producer, Piketko enters into a packing contract with the producer. One of the stipulations of the contract is that the producer must appoint the export agent. Once that has been done, Piketko will pack the fruit according to the specifications of the export agent. During the 2003 season Piketko has packed fruit for the following export agents:

• Zebra Fresh Fruit

• Seald Sweet

• Capespan

• Snofruit

• Cape Five

• Fruits Unlimited

Export agents

The second option is that the export agent may have a producer-client on whose behalf he negotiates packing capacity at Piketko. Piketko then enters into a service agreement with the export agent, who in this case is the client in the sense that he lays down the packing standards and also takes responsibility for payment of the packing costs.  During the 2003 season Piketko has entered into packing agreements with the following export agents:

• Van Der Lans Cape Fresh

• Colors Fruit
